About the fellowship

Boalt Hall’s Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA) is proud to announce its third annual alumni and public interest fellowship dinner. APALSA is the largest student-run organization at Boalt Hall as well as the largest Asian Pacific American law student association in the nation.

The Dale Minami Public Interest Fellowship

In addition to honoring alumni and leaders who have made significant contributions to the Asian Pacific American legal community, the Dinner raises funds toward the endowment of the Dale Minami Public Interest Fellowship, which provides critical financial support to outstanding individuals who commit to serving the public interest. Minami Fellows are selected for their diverse backgrounds, record of exceptional academic and professional accomplishment, leadership in community service, and commitment to social justice and public interest work. The 2010 fellowship recipient will be honored at the event.

Dale Minami

We have re-named our fellowship after Dale Minami ’71, a prominent San Francisco-based attorney and a recipient of the American Bar Association’s 2003 Thurgood Marshall Award. Mr. Minami is well-regarded for his civil rights work on Korematsu v. United States and co-founded the Asian Law Caucus as well as the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area. Learn more about Dale Minami here.

Why you should attend…

We invite you to support this important endeavor by attending our dinner and/or by serving as an event sponsor. The dinner offers a great opportunity for Boalt alumni to reconnect with former classmates. It is also the ideal venue for law firms and members of the business community to meet Boalt students and alumni.
